MESSAGE COUNTER
The TC-540's digital display shows the total
number of messages received in all mailboxes.
CALL SCREENING
Call screening allows you
to hear who is calling
before you answer the
phone.

The TC-540 will answer your call and
play your outgoing messages through the
speaker. You will then hear the caller
through the speaker.
You have
reached the
Smiths...

If you want to speak to your caller,
pick up the handset, or press
SPEAKERPHONE
pick up any extension phone connected
to the same line as your TC-540. The
TC-540 will automatically stop recording.
(See page 5 for Auto Extension
Disconnect.)

received. The time and day will be
announced before each message, only if
you set the time/day stamp (see page 8.)
As messages play, the TC-540 displays
