Video heads maintenance
•When the cam corder has been used for a long time, the
sound and pi cture playba ck quality deteriorate (as
illustrated). In such case, the video heads should be
cleaned.
• Be very careful when using commercially ava ilable
video head-cleaning products, as some might not be
effective or damage the heads.
•Video heads will wear after they have been used for a
long period. If the playback quality is poor, even after
having cleaned the video heads, they might need to be
replaced. For detailed information and assistance,
please consult your dealer.
Do not use commercially available wet-type

video head-cleaning cassettes. They may
damage the video heads in your unit. For the
most suitable head- cleaning cassettes, please
consult the dealer where the unit was
purchased.
Inspection at 1 000-hour intervals
For continued trouble free operation and beautiful
pictures, it is re commended to have the unit inspected
(including cleaning, lubri cation and replacement of worn
parts as necessary), every 1000 hours of use
(approximately). For detailed information and assistance,
please consult your dealer.
Cleaning the viewfinder

Fully pull out the eye-piece, then push it back slightly.

Turn it towards the left (in the direction of the arrow, as
illustrated), then remove it.

Use an air blower (sold separately) to remove any dust
on the view finder.
Reassemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
Holding the camcorder
Use the grip belt to carry the camcorder. Holding it as
shown in the illustrat ion below might damage the
camcorder or some of its components.
Remove the cassette tape when the unit is not being used.
