Engine Oil

General
Keep the engine oil at the proper level and
change it at the recommended intervals. Al-
ways replace the oil filters at the same time
as when the oil is changed.
Always follow the oil change intervals and
use the oil types that are recommended by
the engine manufacturers. Oil change inter-
vals for Volvo engines are found on page
61. Viscosity and capacity tables can be
found beginning on page 166. Other engine
manufacturers have different policies
regarding their products and should be con-
sulted if a different change interval is
desired. Contact your Volvo Truck dealer
for more information.

NOTE! Always dispose of oil according to
Federal or local regulations. Used oil
disposed of in nature or waterways contam-
inates our drinking water and kills wildlife.
Take all used oil to a recycling or waste
collection center.
