audio.
When viewing steaming video from
my PC using a wireless LAN, the
video is choppy.
When viewing streaming video of a
downloaded or recorded TV show or
movie, the Pause, Fast-forward, and
other device trick-play buttons do not
work.
When viewing or playing media, the
screen freezes.
The TV turned itself off and then on.
My MediaSmart TV can't see my PC.
I lose connection between my
MediaSmart TV and my PC when
streaming files.
Remedy (continued)
If you connected a digital external audio system to the Digital Audio
out connector on the TV, make sure the audio system is on.
If you have not connected a digital external audio system to the
Digital Audio out connector on the TV, make sure the setting for
Audio in the Settings menu is TV Speakers [PCM]; see "Changing
Audio options" on page 75. Also, check that the Output Select
setting is Fixed in the Option menu of the OSD menus; see "Using
the Option Menu" on page 54.
The quality of streaming video over wireless depends on many factors,
such as the bitrate of the original video, the reception quality, and the
access point. For best quality over wireless, HP recommends using an
access point that supports IEEE 802.11a. IEEE 802.11g is the second
choice. IEEE 802.11b access points work well for audio and picture
streaming, but are not recommended for video because of bandwidth
limitations.
Microsoft Media Center PCs record TV programs in a proprietary format
called dvr-ms. Your MediaSmart TV supports playback of dvr-ms files, but
it does not support use of the device trick-play buttons.
Many video download sites do not allow or support use of the device
trick-play buttons on their pay-per-view video files.
Turn off the TV and then turn it on.
The TV sensed an internal communication error and turned off to reset
itself.
Make sure Windows Media Connect is started on your PC.
Make sure both the TV and the PC are connected to your home
network.
Your firewall may be blocking Windows Media Connect from
working properly with your HP MediaSmart TV. Reset the Microsoft
firewall settings in Windows Media Connect, or, if you are using
another firewall program, make Windows Media Connect a trusted
program and make your whole home network a trusted device.

During high transfer rates, as when streaming videos, your firewall may
be blocking Windows Media Connect from working properly with your
HP MediaSmart TV. Reset the Microsoft firewall settings in Windows
Media Connect, or, if you are using another firewall program, make
Windows Media Connect a trusted program and make your whole home
network a trusted device. For additional help with firewalls, use your PC
