5.5.3 LAN Settings of Projector
(1) Connect the PC to the projector with a LAN cable.
(2) Plug in the power cable, and turn on the power of the pro-
jector.
(3) Set the [Communication Terminal] item inside the [Func-
tion] tab of the menu to [LAN].
(4) Select the [Network] item inside the [Function] tab of the
menu, and click the [OK] button.

Network settings
• Set DHCP client to [OFF].
• Set the [IP address] for the projector and PC to different
values.
Recommended: PC [192 168 0 1], Projector [192 168 0
2])
• Set the [Subnet Mask] and [Default Gateway] of the pro-
jector to the same values as those of the PC.
Recommended: Subnet mask [255 255 255 0]
Default gateway [192 168 0 254]
Select [Set], and click the [OK] button. The following
screen appears. Select [Yes] and the settings will be ap-
plied.

Precaution:
If an IP address setting different from the one recom-
mended is used, make sure that you take down the IP
address as you will need to specify the IP address of the
projector manually during the update.

5.5.4 How to Use the Update Tool
(1) Set the projector to the standby state.
(2) Start up the update tool, and click the [Update Firmware]
button.
Precaution:
If an IP address different from the one recommended is
used in the LAN settings of the projector, change the
[Projector IP Address].
(3) Update of the projector starts.
Once update starts, the [STANDBY/ON] LED will light up in
orange, after which the three LEDs will light up at the same
time.
* It will take slightly more than 10 minutes for update to
complete.
Precaution:
Make sure that the LAN cable is not disconnected while
update is in progress. Also, make sure that the power of
the PC and projector does not turn off.
(4) After transfer of update data is complete, the final stage of
the projector update process starts. The three LED lights
will appear blinking at the same time.
(5) Once update is complete, only the [STANDBY/ON] LED
will light up in red. (The light of the other two LEDs will go
off.)
(6) After update is complete, unplug the power cable. Check
that the [STANDBY/ON] LED light has turned off, followed
by plugging in the power cable again.
(7) Check the version from the information menu of the projec-
tor.
In the event that the projector fails to start up due to communica-
tion error during MCU/SUB update, follow the procedure below.
(1) Unplug the AC cable of the projector, and exit the updater
application.
(2) Connect the projector to the PC directly with a LAN cable.
(3) Connect the AC cable while holding down the [STANDBY/
ON] and [INPUT] buttons at the back of the projector.
If the buttons are properly pressed, the [LAMP] and
[WARNING] LEDs of the set should light up.
