4: EMERGENCY MODE
5.4 Update of DD CPU Firmware
Before repairing or adjusting the projector, make sure to back up
the ROM data. The ROM data contains important data or infor-
mation, such as factory adjustment data, system time, and lamp
time.
5.4.1 Equipment Needed
• Windows PC [Windows XP (SP2/3) / Windows Vista / Windows
7 (64-bit version not supported)]
• Updater application (ILAFPJ2011_UP_GRADER)
• Updater file (*.sub1)
• RS-232C cross cable
5.4.2 Update Procedure
(1) Unplug the power cable from the projector. (Make sure it
can be plugged back in immediately.)
(2) Start up ILAFPJ2011_UP_GRADER.
(3) Select Setting (S), and select the COM port to which the
RS-232C cable is connected.
(4) Select the updater file.
(5) Connect the power cable to the projector.
(6) Check to ensure that the [STANDBY/ON] LED at the top of
the front panel lights up in red.
(7) Connect the projector to the PC with the RS-232C cable.
(8) Press the [Write] button to start update.
(9) Once update starts, the [LAMP] LED will light up in orange,
and the [WARNING] LED in red. The [STANDBY/ON] LED
light will go off.
(10) After update is complete, the following window will pop up.
Click the [OK] button.
(11) Unplug the power cable from the projector. Check that the
LED light at the top of the front panel has turned off, fol-
lowed by plugging in the power cable again. Press the
[STANDBY/ON] button to start up the projector.

5.5 Update of DD CPU Firmware
5.5.1 Equipment Needed

5.5.2 Installation Procedure for Updater Application
(1) Save the updater application at an appropriate location,
and double-click the icon to open it. The following window
appears.
(2) Installation Wizard
• Unless otherwise necessary, click the [Next] button four
times to advance to the next Wizard screen.
• Lastly, click the [Install] button. Wait for a while for instal-
lation to complete. After the [Completing the ILA-FPJ Up-
dater by LAN Xxx Setup Wizard] display appears, click
the [Finish] button to exit.
