Equipment to Prepare
. Personal computer (IBM/PC compatible with terminal
software installed)
. RS-232C tool cable: Part number J-6402-640-A
1. Preparation
Connect the RS-232C connector (CN1601) for DEBUG on
the CA-67 board to the serial port on the personal comput-
er with the RS-232C tool cable.
Set the terminal software on the personal computer to the
following values.
Communication speed : 9600 bps
Word length
: 8 bit
Stop bit
: 1 bit
Parity bit
: None
Flow control
: None
2. Loop-back test connector
The following four loop-back connectors are required for
the loop-back test:
. VTR, SWer, MIXer Port RS-422 (D-SUB 9pin Male)
. CONPANE RS-422 (D-SUB 25pin Male)
. EDL Port RS-232C (D-SUB 9pin Female)
. GPI IN/OUT (D-SUB 15pin Male)
Six loop-back connectors are needed for "VTR, SWer,
MIXer Port RS-422", but it is also possible to use only one
and to perform one test after another.
One loop-back connector is needed for each of the other
tests.
Pin connection information for the loop-back test is as
follows.

3. How to Start the Test
(1) Set the DIP switch S900-1 on the CA-67 board to ON
and turn on the power.
(2) Test preparation is complete when the following menu
appears in the terminal.

4.Auto test 2
5.Manual test 2
6.Utility

Select test No.
4. Running the Test
(1) With all of the loop-back connectors attached to the
rear panel, selecting "1.Auto test 1" automatically runs
the following tests.
When the test ends successfully without any error, the
message "Auto test finished. Test status = !! OK !!"
appears.

2.Battery backup RAM(32KB) write/verify test - !! OK !!

Auto test finished.
PUSH RETURN KEY
(2) When the tests have ended with "OK" in "Auto test 1",
turn the main power off and then back on. Enter the
test menu again and perform "2. Auto verify test 1",
which tests whether data contents that have been set
and stored in memory are correctly kept memorized,
even when the main power is turned off an on.
