4. Verify that the controller module battery unit has not exceeded its shelf life by
checking the date-of-manufacture label (
If the date of manufacture listed is less than six months previous to the date you
received the system, the battery has not expired. Replace it two years after the
installation date.
If the date of manufacture listed is more than six months previous to the date you
received the system, replace the battery. Refer to the Sun RSM Array 2000 System
Manual for information on replacing a battery.
5. Write in the current date on the battery label for "Date of installation" and the
date two years from now for "Replacement date."
Replacement date is the date you need to change the battery.

To Verify the Host SCSI IDs

Tools: Needlenose pliers
Equipment: Jumpers (supplied with unit), antistatic wrist strap
Every device attached to a SCSI bus must have a unique ID number to communicate.
For this installation, verify that the SCSI IDs for controller A and B are set to ID 5
and ID 4, respectively.
