2. Used as Goto Control System Only
SETUP MANAGING SOFTWARE RESIDING IN EXTERNAL PC. STARGO2 AS A MERE
COMMANDS EXECUTOR (for N.I.N.A., SGP habitual users)
This method is similar to the previous one as regards the equipment involved and the
connection method to the StarGo2 Pro. The basic difference is that this time the
managing software for both telescope control and astrophotography actions are
residing in the remote computer and not in the internal Raspberry. In this case the
StarGO2 loses its smart capability and becomes a simple executor of commands
generated outside of it. The advantage of this approach is that the operator can
continue to use the habitual software such as Sequence Generator Pro, NINA, etc,
which are not available in the Raspberry environment, but the disadvantages are
that, in this way, the constant commands transmission between the remote device
and the StarGo2 Pro is required, so a temporary lack of transmission could affect
the session result.
Details on this approach are given in sections 3.3 and 3.4.

2. The StarGO2 Controller

The StarGo2 controller is constituted by a paper book size box in with a large touch screen display
allowing the most basic setup operations. The box is provided of all the input/output connectors
for communicate by wire with the mount motors, the encoders if any and the external control
keypad. It is also provided of two RCA connectors providing 12 VDC supply to external devices
such as CCDs, Filter wheels, Focusers, etc. A third PWM RCA connector provides variable voltage to
supply anti-dew belts. All these power outputs may be controlled by the operator. Furthermore,
the StarGO2 is also provided of the Raspberry PI typical Ethernet and USB I/Os. Figure 1 shows the
StarGO 2 schematic.
