2.4.3. Using Cart du Ciel (or Sky Chart) as Planetary app instead of kStars.
Cart du Ciel (CdC) or Sky Chart is probably the most know planetarium application, often used in
conjunction with astrophotography software such as Sequence Generator Pro, N.I.N.A, CCD Ciel
and others. It is a free app available for Mac as well as Windows and Linux based computers. Even
if CdC lacks the Parking, Homing and other more sophisticated functions, it is very light and works
well with all ASCOM, Alpaca or INDI based mounts. It is installed by default in the StarGO2
Raspberry and can be found in the "Education" main Menu.
Telescope Setup with CdC
The procedure to connect the StarGO2 to CdC from the inside Raspberry is the following:
1. Launch the SkyChart application by double clicking its icon in the Raspberry desktop reached
by using Remote Desktop application as done also for KStars.
2. In the main menu click on Setup and, in the dropdown list, choose General. The General
window will pop up (See Figure 3.11). Select the Telescope panel:
3. In this window select the INDI item. Then click Apply and OK to exit the window.
4. Now open the Telescope interface window by clicking on the first small dome icon(that with
the red dot) on the toolbar (Figure 3.12):
