For example, setting a device (TTY) address on the NT3T80 to “0 0 0 0 0" will result in conflicts because this is the preassigned address setting for TTYs 0 and 1 on the NT3T71 pack.

These applications are non-ASCII based and the equipment outputs and inputs 8 data bits. So the setting of 8-bit data is used and the parity and stop bit settings match those of the equipment in the application.
