    Resolution Calibration Procedure The resolution of the AQ6380 can be calibrated using a light source that you provide. Connecting the External Light Source Turn on the AQ6380.   • Page 53 The analysis algorithm other than EDFA-NF uses the value stored in the AQ6380. Clearing the Resolution Calibration Value The calibration table of equivalent noise bandwidth is cleared. After clearing, the 3 dB width resolution bandwidth is used in the analysis algorithm calculations.

    Water vapor present in the monochromator absorb light in the 1350–1450 nm area, resulting in ripples in the measurement waveform. The AQ6380 can be purged with high purity nitrogen or purge gas in order to reduce water vapor absorption lines in the measurement results. Nitrogen gas is recommended for AQ6380 which has hygroscopic optical components and ambient water vapor may interfere with measurements.
