6. Before initial use

Remove the SHS 25 A1 hair straightener and all accessories from the packaging and check the
completeness of the delivery. Remove the protective film. Keep the packaging material away from children
and dispose of it in an environmentally-friendly manner.
Prior to using it for the first time, you must clean the hair straightener as described in the 'Cleaning' section.

6.1. Prepping hair

Hair should be clean, dry and free from styling products such as hair gel or wax. This excludes special
products that support straightening or curling.
Before using the straightener on your hair, thoroughly comb it out to remove tangles.

7. Initial use

The hair straightener uses spring force to continually press the plates (5) together with a constant, ideal level
of pressure. Separate the plates (5) in order to clamp sections of hair between them. To separate the plates,
press the thumb of the hand you are using to hold the hair straightener against the elongated housing on
the upper plate (5, arrow). After you have placed a section of hair onto the plate, remove your thumb from
the housing on the upper plate (5). The section of hair is now secured between the plates (5).
