To adjust the spring pre-load: 1. Park the machine on a flat, level surface. Engage the parking brake, disengage the PTO, turn the ignition switch to OFF, and remove the ignition key.
  • Page 11 Installation Installing the Collector Assist Spring (IS600Z Models Only) Due to the extra weight of the collection system, it is necessary to install the collector assist springs (A, 3) on the IS600Z models. Retain the discharge chute, chute mount rod, and mounting hardware. The discharge chute will need to be reinstalled for operation if the collection system is removed.
  • Page 14 Installation Prepare the Mower Deck - Models with Single Belt Drive Systems Remove the Spindle Belt The mower deck is equipped with an idler arm (A, 7) which is fastened to a spring (B). Rotating Figure the idler arm in a direction that lengthens the spring will relieve the tension on the spindle belt (C).
  • Page 15 Installation Install the Double Spindle Pulley (for Pulleys with Hex Nut and Spring Washer) 1. Install the double spindle pulley (C, 9) and Figure 1/4” key (D) onto the spindle shaft. 2. Install the 3/4” spring washer (B) with the cone facing up (see insert, 9).
  • Page 16 Installation Install the Deck Guard 1. Install the new lower deck guard (A, Figure onto the mower deck and secure with the hardware previously removed. Note: IS3200Z models use a guard that features a pvoting top plate. Install the guard in the same in the same manner as above.
  • Page 17 Installation 4. Install the 1.00 X 1.50 X 1.50 spacer (D) onto the spindle shaft. It fits into the upper opening of the double spindle pulley. 5. Install the 3/4” spring washer (E) with the cone facing up (see insert, 14).

  • Page 23 Installation Check the Position of the Belt Keeps This unit is equipped with three belt keeps to assist in maintaining the proper position of the blower drive belt. One is located on the blower pulley (A, 29), the Figure second is located on the stationary idler pulley (B) and the third is located on the adjustable idler pulley (C).

Install two (2) U-bolts (C) over the second tube down from the top of the bumper, through the mount tabs, and loosely secure with four (4) 3/8-16 nylock flange nuts (D).

  • Page 29 Installation Relocate the Deflector Plate (3-Bag Units Only) There are two (2) different positions that the deflector plate can be installed in on a 3-bag unit. The deflector plate is factory installed in the position labelled “2”. For the proper operation of this unit, it must be relocated to the position labelled “1”.
  • Page 30 Installation Install Collector Bags The collector bags are constructed with three mesh panels and one solid panel. Install the bag with the solid panel towards the front of the machine. 1. Raise the collector hood and slide the collector bags (A, 44) onto the frame rails (B).

    Maintenance Check the Blower Drive Belt Idler Spring Length 1. Measure the coil-to-coil spring length (A, Figure 63) of the adjustable idler spring (B). The measurement should equal 6-1/2” (16,5 cm). If the measurement is not correct, perform the Blower Drive Belt Idler Spring Adjustment.
