The server does not recognize the drive

If the server does not recognize the drive, complete the following steps:
1. Make sure that the USB cable and power cable are correctly connected to the
2. Make sure that the correct device driver is installed.
3. If the server still does not recognize the tape drive, contact IBM Support.

The backup program does not recognize the drive

If the backup application program does not recognize the drive, use another
application (such as Microsoft Windows Device Manager, for example) to determine
whether the drive is recognized.
If the other application recognizes the drive, check the documentation that came
with the backup program to determine whether the program requires a particular
device driver.
If the other application does not recognize the drive, the drive might not be correctly
installed or configured. Check the drive installation and configuration.

Replacing the tape drive

The tape drive is a Tier 1 customer replaceable unit (CRU). Replacement of Tier 1
CRUs is your responsibility. If IBM installs a Tier 1 CRU at your request, you will be
charged for the installation.
For more information about the terms of the warranty and getting service and
assistance, see Appendix C, "IBM Statement of Limited Warranty Z125-4753-09
08/2006," on page 23.
If you are instructed to return a component, follow all packaging instructions, and
use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
