See Figure 3-2 for a representative view of the Diamond DX rear panel.
There are a variety of rear panel inputs and outputs, each of which is listed and described in the
following section. They are also listed in Table 1-1, Diamond DX Specifications.

3.13.1 DC Power Input

DC power is connected from an external wall-mount consumer-grade +12VDC power supply.
The plug from the power supply is a coaxial 2.5 mm male jack, with the tip 12V more positive
than the outer ring or barrel. The rear panel has a female plug labeled 'DC IN' with a diagram
showing power polarity.

3.13.2 RS232 Serial Port (SERIAL CNTL)

The Serial Port connectors are parallel-connected Female DB-9 and RJ11 (telephone-type) jacks.
The RJ11 pins are numbered (looking at the rear panel from outside the unit) left to right, 1-6.
See Figure 3-2 and Section 1.3, paragraph 4.
3.13.3 Audio Input (AUDIO IN)
Monaural (single channel) audio is input on a phono (RCA) jack. See Section 1.3, paragraph 3.
3.13.4 Microphone Input (MIC IN)
An external microphone (or recorded) signal may be input on a consumer-type 3.5 mm female
phone jack. See Figure 3-2 and Sections 3.6 and 3.7.

3.13.5 Music-only Output (AUDIO OUT, NO ADS)

Monaural audio is output on a phono (RCA) jack. This is a physical loop-thru of the 'AUDIO
IN' signal, connected only by a 10-ohm resistor. See Figures 2-1 and 3-2.

3.13.6 Audio Output (AUDIO OUT W/ADS)

The 'normal' with-spots audio is output on a phono (RCA) jack. This is a monaural audio which
is switched between music and ads, controlled by the uplink and the Diamond unit. See Figures
2-1 and 3-2.
During spot recording, this output is muted (No audio output).
