    Safety Designated use Fieldgate SFG500 is a system component that provides an independent access route to a PROFIBUS network. It must be powered by a SELV power supply. Fieldgate SFG500 may be used in a variety of applications that are supported by specific operating modes. The operating modes are determined by an optional memory card (Fieldgate Module SFM500).

    Installation • To avoid malfunction of Fieldgate SFG500, mount and configure it as described below • When mounting and wiring the components in a cabinet, make sure that the layout conforms to your company or national regulations regarding the separation of Ex and non- Ex components and circuits as well as the separation of signal and power lines 1.

If a Fieldgate Module SFM500 was ordered with Fieldgate SFG500, insert it into the card slot in the front panel. • Once a Fieldgate Module SFM500 had been inserted and Fieldgate SFG500 has been powered up it can only be removed by following the procedure described in Operating Instructions BA00070S/04/en on the CD-ROM.

    Sicherheit Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung Beim Fieldgate SFG500 handelt es sich um eine Systemkomponente, die einen unabhängigen Zugang zu einem PROFIBUS-Netzwerk bereitstellt. Zur Speisung wird ein SELV-Netzteil vorausgesetzt. Das SFG500 wird für verschiedene Aufgaben eingesetzt, die über eine optionale Speicherkarte bestimmt werden (Fieldgatemodul SFM500). Betriebssicherheit Die untenstehende Tabelle listet die Bedingungen für eine sichere Installation, Inbetriebnahme und Bedienung des Fieldgate SFG500.

    Identifikation Das Fieldgate SFG500 kann anhand der Bezeichnung auf der Frontplatte und anhand des Typenschildes an der Geräteseite identifiziert werden. Für eine bessere Lesbarkeit wurde das Typenschild in diesem Dokument mit weißem Hintergrund abgebildet.     Installation • Montieren und konfigurieren Sie das Fieldgate SFG500 nur wie in diesem Kapitel beschrieben, da andernfalls kein ordnungsgemäßer Betrieb sichergestellt ist. • Bei Montage und Verdrahtung der Komponenten in einem Schaltschrank müssen Sie sicherstellen, dass die Anordnung den firmeninternen und nationalen Richtlinien und Vorschriften entspricht, was die Trennung von Ex- und nicht Ex-Komponenten und Schaltkreisen sowie die Trennung von Signal- und Netzleitungen anbelangt 1.

    Verdrahtung • An die RS485-/PROFIBUS DP-/Ethernet-Schnittstellen, den Relaisausgang und an die DC-Kreise des Gerätes dürfen nur Peripheriegeräte angeschlossen werden, die die Anforderungen für Sicherheitskleinspannung gemäß EN/IEC 60950-1 bzw. IEC 61010-1 erfüllen. • Das Installationspersonal muss berechtigt und in SELV qualifiziert sein 1.
