2. GENERAL RULES FOR IMPLEMENTING THE DECT
You should respect some general rules when implementing the DECT integrated system.
These rules concern the following:
♦
site deployment survey
♦
checking the S0 interface configuration
♦
connecting and synchronizing radio base stations
♦
preliminary checks
♦
putting the DECT system in service using the VT 100 programming console
♦
registering mobile sets
♦
checking polarity of the "clock" pair, if the synchronization type is "third pair"
♦
checking overall operation
2.1
SITE DEPLOYMENT SURVEY
The main checks concern radio engineering:
♦
check that a site data report exists, including radio coverage and traffic
♦
check the location of radio base stations for consistency (accessibility, visibility)
♦
check the traffic survey: a maximum of eight radio base stations (preferably six)
should be grouped per cell
See the Appendix 2, Principles of Deployment.
2.2
CHECKING THE S0 INTERFACE CONFIGURATION
Each DECT radio base station is connected to an S0 type interface.
DECT interface cards are similar to those used for ISDN S0 (BRI) accesses (or T0/S0 BRI
if S0 hardware configuration is used).
The following tables indicate those DECT compatible interface cards per PBX family range
and PBX type as well as the type of remote power supply.

Do not connect any other ISDN equipment to the S0 bus.
Only install the technical releases of cards shown below.
