Adjusting the Flange Focal Length

How to adjust the flange focal length (the distance from the
lens mount surface to the image formation surface) is
explained here.
Adjust the flange focal length when the subject does not
come into focus at the telephoto and wide positions while
zooming

Point the lens at a subject which is at the distance you
intend to use the video camera, or at a subject about 3
meters (10 ft) away from the video camera.
Set the I, Z, and F switches to M.
Turn the iris ring counterclockwise and set the iris to
1.9 (open).
Adjust the ambient brightness so that a proper video
level is obtained at the iris 1.9.
Note on adjusting the flange focal length
Make sure to open the iris fully to adjust the flange
focal length.
Turn the zoom ring counterclockwise and align 117
(telephoto) to the white line.
Turn the focus ring until the subject mentioned in step 1
comes into focus.
Turn the zoom ring clockwise and align 7.3 (wide) to
the white line.
