Information regarding maintenance and cleaning
Danger
Wood dust, ash and soot pose a danger to the
respiratory tract during cleaning work and when
manipulating the ash box.
Wear a dust mask to protect your respiratory
tract.

Please note
Risk of fire due to hot ashes! In unsuitable vac-
uum cleaners, hot ashes can ignite filters and
plastic material.
Use an ash vacuum cleaner that is specially
designed for this purpose.
Never use domestic vacuum cleaners made of
plastic with fabric/paper filters.
Flue gas emissions test by flue gas inspector
Preparations for flue gas emissions test:
Notify your contractor 1 - 2 weeks before the date for
the flue gas emissions test.
Provide suitable fuel. See wood moisture content on
page 54.
Clean flue gas routes and chimney 3 to 5 days
before the flue gas emissions test.

Note
Only clean the boiler with the cleaning equipment
provided and an ash vacuum cleaner. Never use
chemical cleaning agents.
Carry out the cleaning at the specified intervals (see
page 47).
Note
Before restarting the heating system, all opened cov-
ers and flaps on the boiler must be closed again.

1. Open the ash door.
2. Empty the ash pan and clean the ash chamber
with a scraper or ash vacuum cleaner.
Use a scraper or spatula to remove dry and flaking
deposits (ash, carbon and tar) from the frame of
the ash door.
3. Check the gaskets for wear and damage. Replace
these if required.
4. Reinsert the ash pan and close the ash door.
