In this way the titration head can be moved very accurately to the individual ves- sels located in several rows on the sample rack.

    2.4 Remote Connections 2.4.1 External Bus Connections Via the "External Bus" the 717 Sample Changer is operated by a control instrument, e.g. the 726 Titroprocessor. Four dosing instruments (Dosimat 685 or Dosino 700) may be connected to the "External Bus" interface using a 729 Dosimat Interface.

    3 Sample Racks A sample rack is a sort of turntable for the positioning of beakers which are to be placed on the 717 Sample Changer. Because for titration, various sizes of beakers are common or required, many kinds of racks can be used and are easily interchangeable. The rack offers space for various numbers of samples depending on the diameter of the beakers.
  • Page 17 3 Sample Racks The standard racks provided by Metrohm are already equipped with a predefined magnetic code for every rack type. If several racks of the same type are used, the magnet rods can be ar- ranged differently so that a unique identification of a sample rack is possible, if this is desired.

If caustic or corrosive chemicals are frequently used, shorter time intervals between service checks can be necessary.
