If the Wi-Fi settings are different, then the "Different Wi-Fi Settings" example shown
above on the left (for illustration purposes) along with Steps 1 thru 16 below shall be
performed to properly configure the GarageSmart™ device to your secured router.
If the Wi-Fi settings are the same, then the "Same Wi-Fi Settings" example shown
above on the right (for illustration purposes) along with Steps 1, and 8 thru 16 below shall
be performed to properly configure the GarageSmart™ device to your secured router.
IMPORTANT - Once the GarageSmart™ device is configured to your existing or to
another secured Network Name (SSID) or Password, the factory default Wi-Fi settings
will be overwritten and will no longer be valid. Therefore it is important to always
remember what the GarageSmart™ device is configured to as these settings will then
become the new Wi-Fi settings of the GarageSmart™ device (in place of the factory
default settings)

1. Login into your routers Wi-Fi settings and write down the existing Network Name
(SSID) and Password.
2. Perform this step if the GarageSmart™ device and your router are currently
configured to different Wi-Fi network settings
proceed directly to step 8.
Temporally change the Network Name (SSID) and Password of your router to the
same Network (SSID) and Password of the GarageSmart™ device (for new
GarageSmart™ devices this will be the default Wi-Fi settings as per above)
3. Wait for the router to update to the new settings before proceeding with the next
steps.
4. Plug the "AC Power Supply" into any 120V outlet.
5. Plug one end of the "USB Power Cable" into the "AC Power Supply" and the
other end into the GarageSmart
6. The Status LED on the left will start to blink a pattern of color(s) while the
GarageSmart
7. If the LED eventually changes to a blinking
following steps below. Otherwise, verify that your routers Wi-Fi settings are
correct and that the router is fully working
8. From any cell phone, laptop, tablet or PC visit
http://www.garagesmart.net/tools/wificonfig.html
and Device ID of the GarageSmart device
9. Enter the Network Name (SSID) and Password for your router (from Step 1
above).
10. Click "Submit".
