• Keep the product away from potential sources of electromagnetic interference, such as loudspeakers
or the base units of cordless telephones.
• When connecting the product to a computer or other device with a cable, ensure the correct
orientation of the connectors. Each connector has only one correct orientation. Inserting a connector
in the wrong orientation may damage both devices connected by the cable.
• Do not put your hands inside the product and be careful not to trap your hands or fingers when
opening or closing the printer covers or maintenance cover. Do not put your hands on the movable
base.
• Do not sit on the product or place heavy objects on top of it.
• Do not move the print head by hand; this may damage the product.
• Do not insert or drop metallic or flammable items into the openings on the product.
• Do not spill liquid on the product or use the product with wet hands.
• Do not insert or unplug the plug with wet hands.
• When loading roll paper, hold it by the flange. Otherwise, an injury may occur.
• Do not use aerosol products that contain flammable gases inside or around the product. Doing so may
cause fire.
• Except as specifically explained in your documentation, do not attempt to service the product yourself.
• Unplug the product and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions: if
the power cord or plug is damaged; if liquid has entered the product; if the product has been dropped
or the cabinet damaged; if the product does not operate normally or exhibits a distinct change in
performance. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions.
• Leave the ink cartridges installed. Removing the cartridges can dehydrate the print head and may
prevent the product from printing.
• Before storing the product, make sure the print head is positioned at the far right.
• When storing or transporting the product, do not tilt it, stand it on its side, or turn it upside down;
otherwise ink may leak.
• Do not use the printer in locations with volatile substances such as alcohol or thinner, or near naked
flames. An electric shock or fire could occur.
• Do not use the product if it is giving off smoke or if you notice any abnormal odors or noises. An
electric shock or fire could occur. If any abnormalities occur, turn off the power and unplug the power
cable immediately, then contact your dealer or Epson Support.
• When opening or closing the scanner cover, keep your hands away from the joints between the cover
and the body of the product.
