Using Filters

Filters help you locate encyclopedia ar-
ticles by category. The categories are
Article Type (people, places, and things),
Location , Subject , and Time Period .
You can use more than one filter at a
time to locate articles, as shown in the
example below.
1. Press
LOC
The Locate menu is highlighted.
2. Press
to highlight Article Type.
3. Press
ENTER
4. Press
ENTER
A check marks the selected filter. You
can uncheck it by pressing

6. Highlight Location and then

The arrow indicates subfilters.
7. Select Sub-Saharan Africa.
