Using passwords

You can set a supervisor password to prevent your computer from unauthorized use.
The supervisor password protects the system information stored in the ThinkPad Tablet Setup app. If only a
supervisor password is set, a password prompt is displayed when you try to start the ThinkPad Tablet Setup
app. Unauthorized users cannot change most of the system configuration options in the ThinkPad Tablet
Setup app without the password.
The system administrator can set the same supervisor password on many computers to make administration
easier. It is recommended that you record your password and store it in a safe place. If you forget your
supervisor password, Lenovo cannot reset your password. You must take your computer to a Lenovo
reseller or a Lenovo marketing representative to have the system board replaced. Proof of purchase is
required, and a fee will be charged for parts and service.
To set, change, or remove a password:
Note: Before you start, print these instructions and the instructions on "ThinkPad Tablet Setup app" on page
43. You also can screen-capture the instructions and send the pictures to your smartphone or computer so
that you can view the instructions during operation.

2. Open the ThinkPad Tablet Setup app. See "ThinkPad Tablet Setup app" on page 43.
3. Tap Security ➙ Password.
