For the following steps, if you want to be able to see your input video
on the screen when setting the background pattern, turn on your input
device and start the tape rolling. You might have to go into the tape sev-
eral seconds before scenes begin to appear. You can probably monitor
this through the camcorder's viewfinder.

3 In the top sub-menu, use the
highlight the Video option.
If your input device (camcorder) is running, the swatch at the bot-
tom of the menu shows a portion of the video. If the device is not
running, the swatch is solid black.

Once again, if your input device is running, the video appears as
the background for the Editing Screen — otherwise, the screen is
solid black.
It's up to you as to how to set the duration for this page. If you want to
be able to control when the page leaves the screen, set the page for
infinite duration. If you know exactly how long you want the blank
page to remain on screen, set a timed duration for that amount of time.
In the latter case, you need to know the exact point in the input tape
where you want the next page to come on screen, and set the page for
that duration.
