Chapter 2
T
ROUBLESHOOTING
If you encounter problems after setting up your equipment, check the
following items.
Double-check all connections against the diagrams provided in
this chapter. Many problems result from cabling mistakes.
If you are using a video monitor, make sure it is set properly to
monitor the video and that the output device (such as a VCR) is
also set correctly. For example, make sure the monitor is set to
the correct channel if that is necessary. Also make sure the VCR is
set properly to TV or VIDEO, as required. Some VCR's might also
require you to set the input selection to LINE 1, LINE 2, or some
other selection.
Carefully check the owner manual for the input and output
devices to make sure you understand and observe all necessary
settings.
Check the obvious. Are all devices turned on and switches set
correctly? Are all connections cabled properly with OUT jacks
connected to IN jacks?
Use good cables for all connections. One faulty cable can pre-
vent everything from working as it should. If you suspect a bad
cable, replace it with a new one.
If you are using the S-Video (Y/C) connectors, try using the Com-
posite connectors instead.
If you check all of the above and confirm everything is set up as it
should be, contact Videonics Technical Support for assistance. See
Table 1, Videonics Contacts, on page 4 for directions.
