Internet update of machine software

The machine software can be updated using PFAFF flash-programming. The PFP-boot pro-
gram as well as the corresponding control software for the machine type must be installed
on a PC for this purpose. The PC and machine control unit must be connected to an appropri-
ate null modem cable (order no. 91-291 998-91) to transmit data to the machine.
Proceed as follows to update the machine software:

O The machine must not be switched off during the update.
O Switch off the machine and end the PFP-boot program when the update is completed.
O Release the plug-in connection between the PC and machine control unit and plug the

No set-up, maintenance or adjustment work on the machine must be carried
out whilst updating the machine software!

O Switch the machine off.

adapter) and the machine control unit
(RS232) by loosening the control pan-
el connector. Switch on the PC and start

the PFP-boot program.
O Select the machine type.
O Press the "Programming" button.
O Press and hold the boot key 1 and switch
on the machine.
O Press the "OK" button.
The software update is conducted and
the progress of the update can be deter-
mined from the bar graph display of the
PFP-boot program.
