Telephone operation

Alphabetical search

To start an alphabetical search:
1.
Follow the steps in Review the directory on page 18 to enter
the directory.
2.
Use the dialing keys to enter the letters associated with the name. For
example, if you have entries for Jenny, Jessie, Kristen and Laura in
your directory, press 5 (JKL) once to see Jenny (when Jenny displays,
press
CID to see Jessie), twice to see Kristen, or three times to see
Laura. If there is no name entry matching your search, the next closest
match in alphabetical order appears. If necessary, press
to browse.

Dial a directory entry

1.
Search for the desired entry in the directory (see Review the directory
on page 18 or Alphabetical search above).
2.
When the desired entry appears, press

Edit a directory entry

1.
Search for the desired entry in the directory (see Review the directory
on page 18 or Alphabetical search above).
2.
When the desired entry appears, press
displays Edit number and the stored number.
If the number has more than 11 digits, the screen
only displays the stored number.
3.
Use the dialing keys to edit the number.
Press
MUTE
a digit.
Press and hold
Press
CID or
Press and hold
4.
Press
MENU
The screen displays Edit name and then the
stored name.
5.
Use the dialing keys (see Character Chart on
page 18) to edit the name.
Press
MUTE
a character.
Press and hold
entire entry.
Press
CID or
or right.
6.
Press
MENU
you hear a confirmation tone.
/DELETE to backspace and erase
/DELETE to erase the entire entry.
MUTE
to move the cursor to the left or right.
/PAUSE to insert a dialing pause (a P appears).
REDIAL
/SELECT to move to the name.
/DELETE to backspace and erase
/DELETE to erase the
MUTE
to move the cursor to the left
/SELECT to confirm. The screen displays Saved and then
