4 PRIMING THE SYSTEM The pumps supplied with Simplex Pump Set are not self- Priming priming. If a pump is allowed to run without fuel, pump Overview damage will occur. Pump Sets are shipped from the factory filled with #30 oil to facilitate system priming. On systems that contain a hand pump the hand pump may be utilized to lift the fuel into the pump set cabinet.
