There are two anti hijack modes to stop thieves that have possesion of the car key and alarm remote from stealing the vehicle. A momentary switch (AVS DS01 is recomended) needs to be pressed within a minute of an anti hijack activation or the alarm will cut fuel to the vehicle and sound the alarm (if programmed).
Intelligent glass break sensor (AVS A5): The AVS A5 includes an intelligent glass break sensor. It will only trigger the alarm when it registers the correct sound frequency parameters for breaking glass and the shock sensor also registers a corresponding vibration/impact to the vehicle (the shock sensor on the A5 is used only for the digital glass break sensor and does not detect shock by itself).
Wait for the indicators and LED to flash once. (If the alarm is armed you will not be able to see the indicator flash so instead look for the LED flash). Now, repeat for the second PIN digit and wait for the indicators/LED to flash. Repeat until all five digits are entered. AVS A-SERIES INSTALLATION MANUAL - GEN 2 VER 5...

Plug connector (looking at alarm socket with wires facing): If a tag is accidentally cut, or accessories are being added to the AVS A-Series alarm at a later date, it is possible to trace the required wires by first un-clipping the case. Next, slide the circuit board out to expose the main connector plug.

Changing programmable features The AVS A-Series programming mode is very quick and easy to use. Follow the steps below to change any of the programmable features: Find the Register (1 or 2) in which the feature is located. Set the vehicle up as described to access the required Register. e.g. to access Register 1 close all doors, bonnet and boot, arm and disarm alarm then turn ignition on, off and back on.

On-board turbo timer On most vehicles the AVS A-Series can be set up to run the on-board turbo timer by simply connecting the ignition immobiliser wires that would normally be connected to the key side of the cut (IM2A) to +12V main power feed as shown in the diagram below.

With the onboard turbo timer turned to on (Register 1, Feature 17), the BOOT OUT wire puts out a constant negative when the onboard turbo timer is running so this wire can be used to run an external relay to provide +12V power to the secondary ignition wire. The AVS A-Series can be directly controlled using the vehicle’s existing factory remote control. By hooking up the POS1, POS2, NEG1, NEG2, M1 and M2 wires as per most data sheets (either supplied by AVS or not) or by testing to find the trigger wires, the alarm can be controlled without further programming. The only programming required is to turn on the interface in Register 1, Feature 14 and if you require enable mode, change Register 1, Feature 10 depending on the vehicle, interface uses inhibit mode as default.
Wiring of the hidden button/switch: The hidden button needs to be a momentary switch such as the AVS DS01 discrete switch that can be accessed by the driver but in a discrete location to increase the security of the anti hijack set up. The switch needs to be normally open with one side going to ground and the other to the AUX wire of the alarm.
