11. Connect the appropriate cable to the module. (To use the
serial interface, you must connect a converter cable. See
Appendix A for information about serial cables.)
12. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet; then turn on the
printer.
To verify that the interface is working properly, print a status
sheet and make sure your interface is listed under "Hardware
Configurations." To do this, wait until the printer warms up
(Ready appears on the control panel display and the On Line
light is on); then press the Enter button twice.

Installing an Interface Card

Follow these steps to install an optional EPSON interface card in
your printer:
1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cable from the
electrical outlet.

Warning:
To avoid electrical shock, do not remove the interface slot cover unless
the printer is turned off and unplugged from the electrical outlet.
2. Turn the printer so its back faces you.
