"Arepas Criollas" (Dough)
2 1/2 Cups of Water
2 Cups of Precooked White Corn Flour
2 Teaspoons of Salt
Cooking Instructions:
Place the water in a bowl and add salt. Slowly add the flour and mix thoroughly.
Knead the dough and wait 2-3 minutes. Knead the dough again. Divide the dough
into equal portions. Using the palms of your hands, roll portions of dough and place
one dough-ball in each non-stick cavity of your Oster Tosty Arepa Maker for approxi-
mately 7 minutes. For greater flavor you can also add ground pork rinds or grated
cheese to the dough mix.
For best results, it is strongly recommended to use this appliance with
the above recipe.
"Reina Pepiada" (Chicken Filling)
Ingredients: (Yield 10 Arepas)
4 Potatoes
1 Small Can of Peas
1/4 Teaspoon of Sugar
1/4 Teaspoon of Lemon Juice
2 Chicken Breasts (baked or steamed)
3 Carrots
Cooking Instructions:
Cut potatoes and carrots into small squares. Boil carrots and potatoes in salted
water, until fork-tender. Chop the chicken into small pieces. Mix mayonnaise, sugar,
mustard, and lemon juice. Mix with potatoes, carrots, and chicken and add peas.
Slice the avocado and fill the arepas with 2 tablespoons of filling and top with a slice
of avocado.

1 1/2 Cup of Mayonnaise
1/4 Teaspoon of Mustard
1 Avocado
