1.2 TRFOT-2 OVERVIEW

The TRFOT-2, Token Ring Multimode Fiber Optic Transceiver is a
fiber optic lobe cable converter that allows station devices to be
attached to a Medium Attachment Unit (MAU) or concentrator. This
device converts copper lobes to fiber and/or fiber lobes back to copper.
You can use the TRFOT-2 with Cabletron Systems' TRFMIM-22/26/28
Multimode Fiber Media Interface Modules or configure the TRFOT-2
for Ring In/Ring Out (RI/RO) applications. An external plug-in power
supply provides power for the TRFOT-2. The TRFOT-2 complies with
802.5J Fiber Optic Token Ring standard (draft 23) over multimode
fiber cable and meets FCC Class A, UL and VDE requirements for
emissions.
