Technical conditions for operation

The slide valve must be securely enclosed in order to protect against injury. If this enclosure was not ordered
with the slide valve or if the slide valve is modified by the operator then it is essential to comply with the
regulations set out in the Machine Directive. JAUDT supplies enclosures which can be adapted to the
different requirements.
Providing the necessary supply voltages:
Information on voltage requirements can be found in the chapters relating to drives and accessories or in the
other applicable documents.
Providing a supply of compressed air:
Electropneumatic drive: 0.7...1.1 MPa (7...11 bar absolute), filtered and free of water. An oil-lubricated air
compressor is recommended to optimise the service life of the seals.
Providing hydraulic fluid:
Hydraulic drive: 18 ... 21 MPa operating pressure

Safety instructions

Take measures to ensure that local accident prevention regulations are observed.
Before starting to do any work on the JAUDT slide valve, take the necessary steps to make sure that the drive
unit is switched off/disconnected and that the appropriate control staff have been informed about the work. If
aggressive or hot substances are being stopped by the JAUDT slide valve, suitable safety precautions must
be taken before work on the slide valve begins. These include wearing protective clothing, using breathing
apparatus and positioning collection containers.
Where applicable, the safety officer and/or the environmental protection officer must be informed before work
begins.
The slide valves conform to the latest standards of science and technology. Nevertheless, personal
injury and damage to property can occur due to carelessness. We provide warnings in the form of
appropriate information. This information is flagged up by special symbols.

Areas of application

In their standard configuration, JAUDT slide valves are suitable for free-flowing, powdery to fine-
grained loose products with grains up to 3 mm in size. We can provide expert advice if you need
equipment for different applications.
