5. Clean the inner surface of the air filter cover. Use
compressed air or a brush.
6. Do a check of the rubber seal on the air filter.
Replace the air filter if the rubber seal is damaged.
7. Make sure that the air filter is dry before you install it.
Bevel gear
The bevel gear is filled with the right quantity of grease
at the factory. But, before you use the product, make
sure that the bevel gear is 3/4 full with grease. Use
Husqvarna special grease.
The engine does not start
Check
Stop switch.
Starter pawls.
Fuel tank.
Spark plug.
Carburetor.
Fuel filter.
The engine starts but stops again
Check
Fuel tank.
Air filter.
Carburetor.

Troubleshooting

Possible cause
The stop switch is in the stop position.
The starter pawls cannot move freely.
Incorrect fuel type.
The spark plug is dirty or wet.
The spark plug electrode gap is incorrect.
The spark plug is loose.
The idle speed is incorrectly adjusted.
The fuel filter is clogged.
Possible cause
Incorrect fuel type.
The air filter is clogged.
The engine does not operate correct-
ly at idle speed.
The grease in the bevel gear does not need to be
changed unless repairs are carried out.
Procedure
Set the stop switch to the start position.
Remove the starter cover and clean around
the starter pawls.
Let an approved service agent help you.
Drain the fuel tank and fill with correct fuel.
Make sure that the spark plug is dry and
clean.
Clean the spark plug. Make sure that the
electrode gap is correct. Make sure that the
spark plug has a suppressor.
Refer to technical data for correct electrode
gap.
Tighten the spark plug.
Adjust the idle speed.
Replace the fuel filter.
Procedure
Empty the fuel tank and fill it with cor-
rect fuel.
Clean the air filter.
Let an approved service agent help
you.
