3. Complete the Valve Installation
NOTE: This section applies to all valve installation styles.
IMPORTANT! Use thread sealant on all threaded connections.
Plumb using 1/2" copper tubing, elbows, and adapters.
Secure the bath and/or shower piping to the support framing and
install temporary nipples.
If a slip-fit spout will be installed, the temporary nipple should
extend at least 6" (15.2 cm) beyond the finished wall.
If the valve or diverter units were removed for soldering, reinstall
them.
Cover the valve and diverter units with plaster guards.
Install caps on the temporary nipples.
Turn on the hot and cold water supplies, and check for leaks.
Turn the valve off.
