An cable must have adequate wire size (AWG or
American Wire Gauge) for safety. The smaller the
gauge number of the wire, the greater the capacity of the
cable, that is, 16 gauge has more capacity than 18 gauge.
An undersized cable will cause a drop in line voltage
resulting in loss of power and overheating. When using
more than one cable to make up the total length, be sure
each individual cable contains at least the minimum wire
size. The following table shows the correct size to use
depending on cable length and nameplate ampere rating.
If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge. The lower the
gauge number, the heavier the cable.

Intended Use

This hedge trimmer is designed for residential
trimming applications.
Do NoT use under wet conditions or in presence of
flammable liquids or gases.
This hedge trimmer is a residential power tool. Do NoT
let children come into contact with the tool. Supervision is
required when inexperienced operators use this tool.
ASSEMBLY

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal
injury, turn unit off and disconnect it from
power source before making any adjustments or
removing/installing attachments or accessories.
An accidental start-up can cause injury.

Attaching Guard and Bail Handle to Trimmer

WARNING: Only use with handle and guard
properly assembled to hedge trimmer. The
use of the hedge trimmer without the proper
guard or handle provided may result in serious
personal injury.

The trimmer is shipped with the guard and bail handle
attached to the trimmer with a plastic zip tie.
Attaching Guard to Trimmer (Fig. B, C)
The trimmer is shipped with the guard unattached to the
trimmer. To attach the guard:
1. Remove guard retaining screw
screwdriver (not supplied).
2. Position the guard in place as shown in Fig. B. Ensuring
the guard slots into the grooves on the unit.

on the power head.
1. Near the end of the cable, fold the cable to create a loop.
2. Feed the loop into the cord retainer housing (
shown in Fig. D.
3. Hook the loop onto the cord retainer (
