4. Using the Handscanner with DataWedge

4.1.
Motorola DataWedge is an application which allows data from an external peripheral to be directed to
the current cursor position. DataWedge allows barcode data to be entered into existing applications
without any software modifications being required.
The installation of DataWedge is covered in the User Guide included in the download package of
DataWedge. It is assumed that DataWedge has been installed to the terminal as described in the
User Guide and a link has been placed on the Start Menu.
4.2.
Launch DataWedge from Start Menu > Programs > DataWedge.
By default DataWedge attempts to initialise the built in or tethered barcode scanner when it is first run.
The following two error screens will be seen, press OK to step through each one:
