Version Check and Update Process:
R-4 Pro
Please read these instructions fully and carry out the update process carefully, as described.
NOTE: Failure to carry out the update procedure properly can result in product failure.

Things to Prepare

The following are necessary to carry out the update process:
- R-4 Pro Unit
- A computer with a USB port
- R-4 Pro System Update file (MAIN.BIN)

Checking the version number

1. Plug AC adapter into R-4 ProDC In jack.
NOTE: Do not attempt Version Check or System Update on battery power!
2. Press and hold [DISPLAY] and [MARK] buttons while powering up the unit.

  • Page 3 R-4 Pro drive. (see below): The root directory is the top level directory of your R-4 Pro drive. It is designated with a drive letter such as D:\, E:\, F:\, etc. Do not put the update file inside any of the folders.
  • Page 4 NO FILE!! The R-4 Pro cannot see the MAIN.BIN file on its hard drive. Re-connect the R-4 Pro to your computer via USB and confirm that the MAIN.BIN file copied into the root directory of the R- 4 Pro hard drive.
