  • Page 6 Alternatively, plug the power adapters into the Power Jacks on the transmitter and receiver, and into an AC wall outlet, Tripp Lite Surge Protector, PDU or UPS. Note: When power is supplied from both the power adapter and the Ethernet cable (PoE), the supply from the power adapter will be prioritized.
  • Page 7 Installation (Optional) To bypass RS-232 signals, connect your computer or control system to the RS-232 Serial Ports on the units. Notes: • You can connect RS-232 serial devices/peripherals, such as touchscreens and barcode scanners. • To save bandwidth and optimize video performance, the USB and RS-232 ports are disabled by default.
  • Page 8 IP LAN Operation The extender operates over an IP LAN. Installing the units on a network allows point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and multipoint- to-multipoint setups by connecting multiple transmitter/receiver B162-XXX-POE devices on the same local area network. The extender can be used as a video matrix when connected to the LAN via an Ethernet switch, enabling you to add multiple transmitters and receivers to the setup.
