Error Symptom
NOTE: Ensure that the hard disk drive is configured correctly in BIOS Setup and that the cables/jumpers are set
correctly before diagnosing any hard disk drive problems.
Hard disk drive test failed.
Hard disk drive cannot format completely.
Hard disk drive has a write error.
Hard disk drive LED fails to light, but system operates
normally.
NOTE: Ensure that the CD/DVD-ROM drive is configured correctly in BIOS Setup, that the cables/jumpers are set
correctly, and that its laser beam is clean before diagnosing any CD/DVD-ROM drive problems.
CD/DVD-ROM drive test failed.
CD/DVD-ROM drive LED doesn't come on but works
normally.
CD/DVD-ROM drive LED flashes for more than 30
seconds before shutting off.
Software requests to reinstall the disc.
Software informs a reading CD/DVD disc error.
