Power Block

Basic console
This power block turns the basic console on and off.
The power to the drive console cannot be turned on
and off with this block.

1 ROBOT POWER switch
The power to the robot is turned on and off.
DMS-8400 of system number below 0057 or DMS-
8800 of system number below 0007: When turning
on the power, be sure to set the operating mode switch
on the UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) device to
OPERATE before setting this switch to the I position.
DMS-8400 of the system number 0057 or higher or
DMS-8800 of the system number 0007 or higher:
The UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) device is
built into the console. When turning on the power, set
the switch to the I position.
To turn the power off, set the switch to the O position.
The supply of power will then stop two to twenty
seconds afterwards. When the power is turned off, all
indicators on the display panel go dark.
2 DRIVE CONTROL POWER switch
The power to the drive control and status is turned on
and off.
3 BREAKER
Keep in the I position. In an emergency, such as fire,
set to the O position.

To turn the power off in an emergency
•DMS-8800B/8400B and DMS-8800J/8400J
1 Set the ROBOT POWER switch to the O position.
2 Set the BREAKER to the O position.
3 Set the DRIVE CONTROL POWER switch to the
O position.
•DMS-8800D/8400D
Use the external ON/OFF switch on the UPS that you
have installed.
•DMS-8800C/8400C
The DMS-8800C/8400C has no power switch. The
power supply to this unit stops when the power to the
DMS-8800B/8400B or DMS-8800J/8400J is turned
off.
Junction console
This power block turns the junction console on and
off. The power to the drive console cannot be turned
on and off with this block.

1 ROBOT POWER switch
The power to the robot is turned on and off.
When turning on the power, set the switch to the I
position.
To turn the power off, set the switch to the O position.
Then the power supply stops two to twenty seconds
afterwards. When the power is turned off, all
indicators on the display panel go dark.
2 DRIVE CONTROL POWER switch
The power to the drive control and status is turned on
and off.
Normally set to the O position. When a drive control/
status board (optional) is installed, set to the I position.
