Pump Box

NOTE: Do not remove the pump from the pump box.
The pump box contains a 2-hp, variable speed pump and motor, along with the control box and
heater.
You must provide at least 32 cubic feet (length x width x height) (.9 cubic meters) of unrestricted air
space around the pump box. This space allows the motor to cool properly and provides access to
the pump and control box. We suggest you construct a false wall behind the waterfall face wall
framing. Locate the false wall parallel with the face wall.
Install the pump box under the waterfall to maximize accessibility. The pump inlet should face the
planned suction line. The pump box should be within 36" (91.4cm) on either side of the waterfall.
Make sure all the cables will reach the pump box before proceeding.
The false wall must allow at least 14" (35.6cm) of access space behind the face wall. If you plan the
installation for an existing home, or if several different access panels along the back wall are not
feasible, provide more than 14" (35.6cm) of access space between the false wall and the face wall so
a repair person can maneuver between the walls.

Wiring Connections

WARNING: Risk of electric shock. To reduce the risk of electric shock, connect only to a properly
grounded, ground type receptacle, protected by a Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) or
Earth-Leakage Circuit-Breaker (ELCB).
The controls and system have been wired at the factory. A licensed electrician must provide power
to the two junction boxes. Each junction box must be protected by a GFCI or ELCB, with a 220-240
V, 20 A, 50/60 Hz dedicated service. No other load should be on these circuits.
