21. Troubleshooting Procedure

Troubleshooting Guide

This troubleshooting guide is for general aid only. A Kohler Authorized Service Representative or qualified
electrician should correct any electrical problems. For warranty service, contact your dealer or wholesale
distributor.
Symptoms
1. System does not start or stop.
2.
Water flow surges.
3.
Motor starts, Waterfall does not
function.
4.
Waterfall lights do not work.
5. System stops automatically
before 18 minutes.
6.
System does not stop
automatically after 22 minutes.
7. Noisy operation.
8. Remote does not work.

Probable Causes
A. No power to
pump/receptacle/keypad.
B. Harness is blocked.
C. Keypad disconnected from
pump/control box.
D. Keypad does not work.
E. Not enough water in footbath
basin.
F.
Motor/pump assembly does
not work.
G. Control does not work.
A. Not enough water in footbath
basin.
B. Suction is blocked.
C. Harness is blocked.
A. Waterfall is blocked.
B. Waterfall wiring
loose/damaged or butterfly
valve is faulty.
C. Not enough water in footbath
basin (pump cavitates).
D. Keypad does not work.
E. Control does not work.
A. Loose or damaged wiring.
B. Power supply for lighting does
not work.
A. GFCI or ELCB has tripped.
B. Motor overheated and
protection device activated.
A. Timer mechanism accidentally
deactivated.
A. Not enough water in footbath
basin (pump cavitates).
A. Remote not programmed.

Recommended Action
A. Set/Reset GFCI or ELCB.
Check wiring.
B. Remove blockage.
C. Reconnect keypad and/or
wiring harness. Refer to
installer/dealer.
D. Replace keypad. Refer to
installer/dealer.
E. Fill basin 3" (7.6cm) over top of
suction cover.

Replace motor/pump
assembly. Refer to
installer/dealer.
G. Replace control. Refer to
installer/dealer.
A. Fill basin 3" (7.6cm) over top of
suction cover.
B. Remove obstruction.
C. Remove blockage.
A. Remove blockage.
B. Identify source of fault and
correct or replace wiring or
butterfly valve. Refer to
installer/dealer.
C. Fill basin 3" (7.6cm) over top of
suction cover.
D. Replace keypad. Refer to
installer/dealer.
E. Replace control. Refer to
installer/dealer.
A. Identify source and correct.
Refer to installer/dealer.
B. Replace the lighting supply
box in pump kit. Refer to
installer/dealer.
A. Set/Reset GFCI or ELCB.
B. Check for restricted air space
around pump box, motor vent
blockage, suction/harness
blockage. Correct and allow
motor to cool.
A. See service manual. Refer to
installer/dealer.
A. Fill basin 3" (7.6cm) over top of
suction cover.
A. Re-program remote following
instructions.
