5-6. Installation Guidelines For Large Diameter Tapcon (LDT) Screw-Anchors

Do not damage electrical wiring
and other utilities when drilling in-
to wall or other structural sup-
port.
Large
diameter
Tapcon
screw-anchors are supplied for mounting
the filter cabinet and blower mounting
brackets. Follow these guidelines when
installing LDT screw-anchors.
Installation Steps For Concrete And
Metal Deck
S
Using a 5/16 in. (8 mm) carbide bit,
drill a 2-3/4 in. (70 mm) deep pilot
hole. (The pilot hole should be 1 in.
deeper than embedded portion of
screw-anchor.)

Insert screw-anchor into hole and
use an electric impact wrench or
socket wrench to tighten until fully
seated. Do not overtighten.
Installation Steps For Hollow Or
Grout-Filled Concrete Block Installa-
tions

Using a 5/16 in. (8 mm) carbide bit,

Insert screw-anchor into hole and
use a socket or open-end wrench to
tighten until fully seated. Do not
overtighten. Do not use an impact
wrench to install screw-anchors in
hollow block.
