Maintenance Schedule

Your Volvo Penta engine and its equipment are designed for high reliability and long life. The engines are built to
withstand the marine environment, but also to have the smallest possible environmental impact. If the engine and
transmission are serviced regularly according to the schedule, these qualities will be retained and unnecessary
malfunctions will be avoided.
CAUTION!
Read the chapter on Maintenance before starting work. It contains instructions on how to carry out maintenance
and service operations in a safe and correct manner.
Where both operational and calendar times are specified, perform the maintenance item at whichever time is the
sooner.
Volvo Penta reserves the right to modify service intervals and content after the operator's manual is published.
The valid document can be found under Publication search/Service record at www.volvopenta.com
Warranty inspection
During the initial period of use, a special warranty inspection - a First service inspection - must be carried out by
an authorized Volvo Penta workshop.
Instructions regarding when this must be done can be found in the maintenance schedule and the Service
book.
Extended service intervals
The interval between engine oil changes may be extended in certain circumstances. To determine whether the
service interval may be extended, Volvo Penta's conditions for extended service intervals must be met and an oil
analysis performed. Contact your Volvo Penta dealer for further information.
NOTICE! The maintenance schedule shown in the operator's manual does not apply to extended service intervals.
In applications that include a reverse gear, the reverse gear manufacturer's service intervals must be complied
with.
