3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from
cookie sheet. Makes 7 dozen cookies.
LEMON CRINKLES
1 cup (250 ml) packed brown sugar
1⁄2 cup (125 ml) shortening
1 tablespoon( 15 ml) grated lemon peel
1 egg
1-1⁄2 cups (375 ml) all-purpose flour
1⁄2 teaspoon (2 ml) baking soda
1⁄2 teaspoon (2 ml) cream of tartar
1⁄4 teaspoon (1 ml) salt
1⁄4 teaspoon (1 ml) ground ginger
Granulated sugar
1. Heat oven to 350°F (180˚C). Beat brown sugar, shortening, lemon peel
and egg in medium bowl on Speed 3. Beat in flour, baking soda, cream of
tartar, salt and ginger on Speed 1.
2. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; dip tops in granulated sugar. Place on
ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake 10 to 11 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when
touched. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
