INTRODUCTION

Power Source LAF 1251 BR is a rectifying source with characteristic of Constant Tension
specially designed for submerged arc welding (SAW), tubular wire welding (FCAW) and
MIG/MAG (GMAW) automated.
LAF 1250 BR is used together with ESAB A2-A6 command Process Controller (PEK).
The source and the command are interconnected through a command cable which
accompanies the A2-A6 control. The source is regulated by the PEK command.
The process is totally controlled by the PEK command through which the welding
parameters are regulated. The regulated parameters can be monitored during welding.
For detailed information about PEK command operation refer to respective Instruction
Manual.
Power Source LAF 1250 BR has got forced ventilation and protection against
components overheating. In case internal temperature is over the limits described in the
project, welding is interrupted and the orange pilot lamp on the panel goes on and the fan
keeps on working. When temperature goes back to normal operation levels the lamp
goes off and welding can be restarted.
Duty cycle is the relation between the time during which a welding machine can supply a
certain maximum welding current (charge time) and a reference time; according to
international rules, reference time is 10 minutes.
LAF 1250 BR nominal duty cycle of 100%.
