2.3 AAU Slot Assignment

This section describes the slot assignment of an AAU.
The following figure shows the slots in an AAU.

Function
l Provides AU arrays, feed power, phase shift
network, and drive system.
l Provides built-in remote control units (RCUs) that
can control circuits.
l Reports information about the AU capability and
RU in-position status.
l Provides the power supplying channel and
communication ports between the RU and the MU.
l Provides ports for AAU mounting kits.
l Provides a -48 V DC port.
l Provides CPRI ports for CPRI convergence and
distribution.
l Provides protection and filtering.
l Provides OM of the AAU and management of the
RUs.
l On the RX channel, down-converts RF signals into
IF signals, amplifies them, and performs ADC.
l On the TX channel, filters signals, performs DAC,
and up-converts the RF signals to the TX band.
l Multiplexes RX signals and TX signals on the RF
channel.
l Provides active antenna calibration and
compensation and parameter configuration.
l Exchanges data between the AU and MU.
Protects a vacant slot from dust and water.
